Working Bee – June 2015

During the cold wet day, apart from the normal weeding and tidying up the garden, we held a Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop at the Working Bee.
Gael and Elfie showed everyone how to prune a fruit tree. All took home a note with tree-pruning instructions for future reference.
The notes will be use year after year to maintain the fruit trees surrounding the Garden’s perimeter.

Special thanks to Jeff who donated his Butter Cup pumpkin to our stone soup. Shen’s chives and carrots, Elfie’s leek, Darren’s coriander and chili, all adding to the delicious soup base made by Gael !
It was such a treat to have a cup of warm soup and buttered bread rolls (thanks Jane!) after the hard work.

Big thank-you to the 21 plotholders turning up, bring along their family and kids.
Someone mentioned the next day that how good the Garden looked after the big tidying up
